Easy up and down

In 2005 a staircase design by L1 for small spaces with complicated layouts was published in the “Cracking it” section of Building Design Magazine, the national news magazine for Architects in the UK p20_db_july+29[1]. It uses similar technology to the Beachut project being a kind of bespoke standard product and makes use of CAD/CAM technology to fabricate panels.

Although it is a processed product, engineered timber, like these panels, is a sustainable material as it uses mostly softwood offcuts and waste.
